PYGMY SHUTTERS OVERCOME SOME INSTALLATION PROBLEMS SEEN WITH CAFE STYLE
Pygmy Style shutters like the very similar cafe style that only cover the lower portion of the window, the difference is cafe have no frame across the top part, though some people do ask for that or more commonly with some installation difficulties by using a 3 sides frame a 4 sided frame is mandated - those are known as pygmy shutters.
In cafe style the 3 sides to the shutter frame form a sort of upside down goal post which may be difficult to fix properly, in this instance 4 sided frames are used and we find are best for some bay or bow windows.
Pygmy Shutters vary in height, from covering 30% of the window height up to 80%. On tall windows it is possible to split the tilt rods into two giving a faux tier on tier look for variable levels of privacy.
