There are some limitations in the size of panels, and these do vary with the type of wood chosen. Louvre stiffness and overall panel rigidity is important, Many years of experience in the design and manufacture of these products have brought us to the conclusion that the maximum louvre length available are best keep to within certain limits

The budget end of the product range is limited to two panels per side (unless tracked) This is a function of the material strength and weight of the units, some materials (PearlWood) are less than half as dense as the heavier (mdf) ranges.
If for instance there were six panels, rather than four, it is possible to have them arranged LL RRRR or LLL RRR or LLLL RR without a track but of course these would have to be manufactured from hardwoods, the maximum hinged set is four per side be it LLLL or RRRR.

One further consideration is of course the size of the panels, the maximum height in all instances is 3m (min 250mm) but the width varies as per the following matrix - the width is a function of material and louvre width. Overly long louvres are more susceptible to warping - in our experience this has not happened in units within these maximum widths - hence they carry our 3 year warranty.
