CoralWood

Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF)
Sources: -MDF is a man made material, constructed from wood fibres bonded together with special adhesives while under heat and pressure.

Advantages
There are a number of reasons why MDF may be used instead of plywood or other materials. It is dense, flat, stiff, has no knots and is easily machined to high levels of accuracy. Because it is made up of fine particles it does not have an easily recognisable surface grain so MDF can be painted to produce a very smooth high quality surface. Because MDF has no grain it can be cut, drilled, machined and filed without damaging the surface.

Appearance:
An innovative product manufactured from two materials

The majority of the shutter, the shutter panels and louvers are made from BassWood. Basswood is a premium and clean straight-grained wood that is uniform in colour and chosen for its stability and a long tern proven resistance to warping
The surrounding mounting frame only is from CraftWood, an MDF, having a durable and smooth finish applied.

Result: lower cost wider panels now available.
